SAP BusinessObjects

Like many other businesses, De Watergroep was faced with a growing reporting landscape - which included a self-service BI platform. Action was required to help colleagues find the right reports and to avoid a wild growth of duplicate or multiple versions of the same reports.

Unified report catalog

To achieve this, dScribe was first rolled out as the central search and documentation portal for all reports in SAP BusinessObjects and SAP Analytics Cloud. Having a structured inventory of all reports has allowed the analytics team at De Watergroep to eliminate duplicate, old, or wrong versions of reports and thus ensure that all business decisions are based on the same data.

The outcome

Having a catalog of all reports has allowed the analytics team at De Watergroep to eliminate duplicate, old, or wrong versions of reports and thus ensure that all business decisions are based on the same data.

The scope was later expanded to include Databricks to create an overall inventory of reports and data models at De Watergroep. De Watergroep also leverages the dScribe glossary to harmonize data definitions, KPIs and business terminology.

"With dScribe we’ve created a thorough overview of all the available data and reports at De Watergroep. Through the convenient search functionality this overview is rapidly becoming the starting point for handling any new data-related questions and ideas."
